The Summer Energy Academy was created to introduce young people to the possibilities
that exist in the energy industry when they study science, engineering and technology

Why Choose The Summer Energy Academy?

Mentorship

Students are taught and mentored by STEM industry professionals and STEM college students. These relationships extend well past the summer program, where former SEA students continue to network with SEA mentors and some later return as college student mentors.

STEM Programming

The SEA consists of an intense curriculum of interactive presentations, labs, mathematics courses, standardized test prep, field trips and a research project focusing on sustainable energy.

Environment

There is no better classroom than New York City, the world’s home base for sustainable technology innovation. SEA students discover ways to reduce their own and NYC’s energy consumption thru research and field trips throughout the City.

My son attended the Summer Energy Academy and it was a great learning experience. He was exposed to different STEM topics and the engineering principles of energy conservation. He raves about the software SketchUp he used for his team building project. The program is amazing because it exposes kids to career fields they probably wouldn’t know about.

Working as a mentor at the SEA program is a  learning  environment for both the mentor and mentee. Through interactive field trips, guest mentors and group activities, students learn while having fun about energy resources.
